We welcomed representatives from the Australian Embassy & Permanent Mission, Vienna

Prishtina, 1 March 2016-

Today, we welcomed in Prishtina the representatives from the Australian Embassy, Mr. David Lewis, the Deputy Head of Mission, and Mr. Richard Holzer-Remondi, Bilateral Relations and Public Affairs Officer for a short visit. Action for Mothers and Children has signed an agreement of cooperation with the Australian Embassy in January 2016, through their direct aid program, to support, strengthen and expand the services of the Women’s Health Resource Centers.

Centers’ primary goal is to improve the health outcomes of women and their children by empowering patients and practitioners towards quality improvement and shared decision-making; two concepts proven to have reduced maternal and child mortality rates around the world.

The support from the Australian Embassy will extend women’s access to this essential service by opening a new center in a municipality outside Prishtina, thereby directly impacting some of Kosovo’s most vulnerable population segments.
