The “Cycle Kosovo for Children” event started today

A group of 20 cyclists started their cycling tour today to raise funds for mothers and children.

After a successful event last year, the Cycle Kosovo for Children is organized this year too.

Today, a group of around 20 cyclists started their cycling tour around Kosovo for three days, for a total distance of 500km with 5000m of climbing. The cyclists, wearing yellow T-shirts, set off from Prishtina to Mitrovica, Peja, Gjakova, Prizren, Ferizaj, Gjilan, Kamenica and back in Prishtina on Sunday, June 7th at the end of event night at Sabaja Bar at 18.00.

Mark Dixon, one of the organizers of this event states that “We are very happy with the number of cyclists who have joined the event this year. This is not a race, rather a charity cycling tour. Thus we would like to kindly ask for patience and support from all the citizens and drivers while we pass through villages and roads around Kosovo.”

This charity event raises funds for Action for Mothers and Children. “All the money raised through this event will support supply programs of Action for Mothers and Children to support the Neonatal Unit in UCCK which delivers care for premature babies” – states Arta Hasanaj, representative at Action for Mothers and Children, and continues: “Such interesting fundraising events will be organized in upcoming months and annually to support maternal and child health in Kosovo, and we are very grateful to all those who support such events.”

This event is an intiative of dy international cyclists living in Kosovo and is supported strongly by Eulex, Devolli Corporation, Uni Project, Sabaja, studio Drop and Pilot Bike.
