Fitim Sadiku from Action for Mothers and Children (AMC) and the Evidence Synthesis Group (ESG) in Kosovo has been appointed to the prestigious international The Lancet Rheumatology commission.
The commission will develop global recommendations on reproductive health and family planning for patients living with chronic immune-mediated and rheumatic diseases. This area remains insufficiently addressed in the scientific literature, despite the numerous challenges faced by individuals affected by these chronic conditions.
Through the analysis of scientific evidence and the incorporation of local perspectives from participating countries, the commission will develop evidence-based recommendations aimed at improving the care and management of reproductive health for these patients worldwide.
The commission brings together internationally renowned experts and researchers from more than 15 countries, including Belgium, Denmark, Germany Italy, Japan, Romania, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.
This appointment represents a significant achievement for Kosovo’s scientific and healthcare community, positioning the country among the contributors to a process expected to influence and improve healthcare for patients with rheumatic diseases around the world.
