Peja, 16 February 2018

Today, Action for Mothers and Children, together with the organizers of “Cycle Kosovo for Children” delivered the equipment of C-reactive protein (CRP) and Hemogram at the Neonatology Clinic – a device needed to improve and save the lives of babies in the Neonatology Clinic in Peja.

The equipment is necessary to determine the level of CRP in the blood, which help to diagnose infection, the need for antibiotic treatment, and the time when it is necessary to stop antibiotherapy. The device will impact on improving the efficiency of the Clinic services and save the lives of newborn babies.

“We as an organization are committed to help the lives of babies and work on finding solutions to the problems faced by the Clinic. It is a pleasure to hand over the CRP equipment today which will improve the efficiency and service of the Neonatology Clinic, “said Janina Mehmeti, Fund Raising Coordinator at Action for Mothers and Children.
This equipment was provided by the funds raised by the “Cycling Kosovo for Children ” tour, which is an annual charity event from cyclists to raise funds for the Humanitarian Foundation “Action for Mothers and Children.” This event was successfully accomplished since 2014 with the aim to help improve the health of children in the country.
“We are grateful for the commitment of the organization in raising the quality of our services for the care and quality treatment of newborns by giving us this CRP  equipment , which enables us to professionally diagnose the newborns and detect any pathology ” said Dr. Mirlinda Shala, Director of Neonatology Clinic in Peja.
