The annual event “Cycle Kosovo for Children” started today!

Prishtina, 02 June 2017-

Today, the annual event “Cycle Kosovo for Children 2017” has started, organized for the 4th consecutive year. The challenge for this year will be cycling around Kosovo for three days, starting from Prishtina to Gjilan, Ferizaj, Prevalla, Prizren, Gjakova, Valbona, Junik, Peja, and returning back to Prishtina on a journey from over 500 kilometers with over 5000 meters of climbing.

Around 30 cyclists started their journey this morning and will return on Sunday, June 4th, at 18:00 in Prishtina. An end-of-tour event will take place at “De Rada” starting from 19:00 on Sunday, 4th of June, which includes entertainment, music, food and various activities for family members, where all interested citizens are invited to join in welcoming cyclists back.

Albion Hadri, one of the event organizers and cyclist says that, “We are very happy with the number of cyclists who have joined the event this year. This is not a race, rather a charity cycling tour. Thus we would like to kindly ask for patience and support from all the citizens and drivers while we pass through villages and roads around Kosovo.”

“Cycle Kosovo for Children” is an annual cycling event around Kosovo to raise funds for Action for Mothers and Children. This event was successfully organized in 2014, 2015 and 2016 and is growing every year. This year’s goal is to raise funds that will purchase the CRP analyzer for the Neonatology Intensive Care Unit in Peja, a device that helps in taking blood samples for premature babies right at the incubator.

Alongside, let us kindly remind you that the online fundraising campaign is still active through KosovaIdeas platform where you can donate any amount to support this challenge and the goal of cyclists, accessible via: http://kosovaideas.net/campaign/detail/305.
