Second hand charity shop for Action for Mothers and Children now open

Prishtina, 12 July 2016-

In an official ceremony, Action for Mothers and Children opened the second hand charity shop “Teshavesha” in Prishtina.

The shop has mobilized citizens, artists, companies, and other organizations to collect second hand items and donate them to our store which are sold at very affordable prices to generate money for maternal and child health programs in Kosovo. Such initative received tremendous support from citizens, well known designers as Agensa Vuthaj, Egzon Kazagiqi, as well as many institutional partners such as SCAAK, American School of Kosova, VM3 and Origano balloons.

“Dearest parents out there, we now have an excellent opportunity to contribute to this store together with our children. Let us also use this initiative to create some tiny important habits for our children to become responsible community members. We are happier when we see our community service habits being developed in our children. We are happier when we are part of a great cause,” states Ardiana Bunjaku, Chair of the Board.

“The charity shop ‘Teshavesha’ employs marginalized women, sells brand known clothing for men, women and children at very low prices and supports mothers and children, all at the same time, in one shot,” declares Janine Mehmeti, the fundraising and event coordinator at Action for Mothers and Children.

In this charity shop, our community members have the opportunity to donate clothes for men, women and children, toys, small home decorations, and accessories which will be sold at symbolic prices and generate revenue that will support Action for Mothers and Children’s programs. The store is located behind Zahir Pajaziti boulevard (at SCAAK’s offices) and is opened every day from 10.00-19.00. While the item collection points will be at SCAAK’s offices, American School of Kosova (ASK) and Action for Mothers and Children’s main offices.
