Prishtina’s Fundarising Event Let’s Dance Returns

Pristina, October 2, 2018

The Foundation Action for Mothers and Children brings again this year to Pristina the now traditional event “Let’s Dance”, which raises funds for health-care services benefiting mothers and children in Kosovo. On 1 November 2018, at Sheshi 21 from 20:00 people will come together for a cause.

What started in 2015 as a good-will project is now a regular fundraising and awareness raising activity of the Foundation. The combined amount raised in the first three “Let’s Dance” events through combined sponsorships and ticket sales reached €79,551.50. This amount is used 100% for the programs and services dedicated to mothers and children.

“It is unbeliavable how much the Foundation Action for Mothers and Children has accomplished thanks to the funds raised through Let’s Dance” event,” says Mrika Aliu, Executive Director of the Foundation. “To name but a few crucial achievements: delivered more than 850 vials of Survanta medication for Kosovo babies in the last three years to treat premature lungs, purchased the CRP/CBC equipment for Neonatology unit in Prishtina, delivered phototherapy lamps to treat jaundice among babies in UCCK and cardiopulmonary monitors to measure heart beats, opened 4 additional women health resource centers in Mitrovica, Sterpce, Kacanik, and Prizren, established the first baby transportation system in the country, and benefited more than 300 babies and 2000 women annually through our interventions.”

The Foundation has already a plan in place to use the funds that will be raised from Let’s Dance 2018. Some key activities include the support with essential medication and equipment for Neonatology and Pediatric clinics, support of Pediatrics in rebuilding some crucial services of the clinic, expanding our health resource centers in rural areas, expanding our baby transportation program, and advocating for better systems of care for our mothers and children.

The Let’s Dance event is an unprecedented display of human solidarity and kindness, one that brings together people from all sectors of life who throug sponsorships and volunteer work make a contribution to improving the lives of children and families in need, and set an example of true community spirit.

The Let’s Dance event is organized by Crimson Capital and the Foundation Action for Mothers and Children. Constant updates can be found on the event page https://www.facebook.com/events/309872943111190/.
