Mr. Valon Xharra receives the Lifetime Contribution Award

During a special ceremony at the 6th edition of the Meet Us Halfway fundraiser at the Yale Club on October 21st 2022, in recognition of his outstanding contributions and inspiring work for mothers and children the Lifetime Contribution Award 2022 was presented to Mr. Valon Xharra.
The Lifetime Contribution Award, recognizes individuals who have made extraordinary contributions towards Action for Mothers and Children, through their major support and their professional career to the progress and development of the AMC. The award acknowledges the individuals that have played a major role in the introduction, growth and development of revolutionary programs with the organization at national and international level.
Mr. Valon Xharra was a chairman of AMC board for two mandates during the 2018 – 2021. During his time as a chairman, Mr. Valon Xharra made crucial steps towards further development of the foundation, both in funding and in networking especially in the USA. One of the biggest successes for AMC at the time the board was led by Valon has been organizing the annual fundraising event “Meet us Halfway” in New York, USA, where for years we managed to raise thousands of dollars to support AMC programs that have a major impact on improving the health of mothers and children in Kosovo. Currently, Mr. Xharra continues his contribution as a Vice Chairman of the AMC Board.
Mr. Xharra works as a Senior Vice President for the global risk management firm Gavin de Becker & Associates. Based in Los Angeles, Mr. Valon Xharra provides specialized crisis management consultation for Fortune 500 companies and advises them on how to manage political and operational risks. Valon is passionate about entrepreneurship and is an investor and partner in several successful businesses spanning technology, real estate, fashion retail and luxury events management. Valon Xharra served four years as a diplomatic analyst for the U.S. Department of State during the war in Kosovo, where he provided expertise in negotiations between the U.S. Government and the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA).
