CRP/CBC equipment is delivered at Neonatology Unit

On 29 January 2015, Action for Mothers and Children and organizers of Cycle Kosovo for Children event were proud to deliver the CRP Hematology Analyzer, needed to save the lives of babies, to the Neonatology Unit at UCCK.

This equipment was purchased with money raised by Cycle Kosovo for Children in support of Action for Mothers and Children. The CRP Hematology Analyzer measures the severity of blood infections in babies, allowing for prompt antibiotic therapy, proper duration of antibiotics, and treatment follow-up. It’s highly efficient; the results are ready in 4 minutes, after a single blood draw. Use of this equipment is expected to decrease the infant mortality rate.

During the ceremony the director of Neonatology Unit expressed her sincere gratefulness to Action for Mothers and Children and organizers of CKC in securing this valuable equipment. The organizers of CKC expressed ongoing support for the work of the foundation. Representatives of Action for Mothers and Children declared that supply programs will improve the efficiency of healthcare services and save the lives of newborns. These efforts will always be at the heart of improving improve maternal and child health in Kosovo.
