Afatinib medication is received as a donation to the Oncology Clinic

Afatinib is received at the Oncology Clinic at UCCK which is another donation from Americares through the partner Action for Mothers and Children. After several donations and great support, Americares and Action for Mothers and Children continues to help and cover the needs of the hospitals with different medications, where this time they bring Afatinab, a donation that reaches the value of more than $ 500,000.

Afatinib is a medication that is used for lung cancer treatment. This medicament acts as a barrier that slows down or tries to stop the development of cancer cells.

“Americares continues to support the work of Action for Mothers and Children and to cover the needs of hospitals with medication, addressing the specific needs of hospitals such as in the Oncology Clinic today where mothers that suffer from cancer are also treated. In this case, we hope that this donation will be sustained and supported at the institutional level,” emphasized Dafina Krasniqi from Action for Mothers and Children.

Arrival of the fourth contingent in Kosovo is made possible thanks to donations collected from “Let’s Dance” event in Kosovo and “Meet US Halfway” event in New York.
