16,200 Swiss Francs Raised for mothers and children in Zurich

The “Save a Life” fundraising reception, which was held on May 12th at the Marriott Hotel in Zurich, Switzerland, was successfully concluded. The talented artist Elina Duni performed for the guests and was followed by e Keynote from the Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo in Switzerland Ms. Nazane Breca .
The event was organized by ‘Action for Mothers and Children (AMC)’ and the Event Co-Chairs Dr. Agron Abrashi and Ridvan Murati, in order to help save the lives of mothers and children in Kosovo.
“Mothers and children are the most vulnerable part of the population in Kosovo. To save people’s lives is the most generous, noble and humanitarian gesture that shows tremendous solidarity between us. Saving the lives of mothers and children, however, should be a major priority,” said Abrashi.
The three-hour cocktail hosted a silent auction as well, where well-known personalities such as the beauty icon and entrepreneur Agnesa Vuthaj, fashion designer Drenusha Xharra, creator Njomza Luci, the English company of wood-engraved glasses Campbell Marson, as well as granite plates made by Dhe by Granita donated a variety of products and services. The auction also included photo shootings by the artists Fjoralba Kryemadhi and Rromir Imami, as well as artistic photographs by Barabara Burri. The ‘Da Paulo Restaurant’, Kosova Wine and Royal Rental Car contributed to the silent auction as well.
“The solidarity and support shown by our Diaspora and friends here in Zurich encourages us to continue our battle to lower the infant mortality rate in Kosovo. Everyone’s contribution plays a key role in our work and we are grateful to have such an active Diaspora towards supporting the Albanian cause,” said the Event Coordinator from Action for Mothers and Children, Janine Mehmeti.
All ticket sales will benefit Action for Mothers and Children in support of its health programs in Kosovo, specifically in: medical supplies, supporting the arrival of Survanta medication, scaling the neo-natal transportation system, expanding the services of Women’s Health Resource Centers, and Cervical Cancer Screening.
