The device for diagnosing heart diseases in babies is donated to the Neonatology Clinic

Action for Mothers and Children together with Raiffeisen Bank in Kosovo are marking the 1st of June, International Children’s Day, differently this year! Today, we donated the echosonogram device to the University Clinical Center of Kosovo, a device that will provide a new service for the newborn children in the Neonatology Clinic in Pristina, and at the same time advocating for the protection and promotion of children’s health rights.

The echosonogram device will diagnose heart diseases in newborns, internal bleeding, infections, central nervous system abnormalities, urogenital system abnormalities, and many other diseases. With the delivery of echosonogram this service and diagnosis will now be available at the UCCK Neonatology Clinic for the first time.

Minister of Health Mr. Uran Ismaili expressed his deepest gratitude for the donation of the medical device and used the opportunity to give his special thanks to the medical staff of the Neonatology Clinic for providing quality care while promising the Ministry’s continued commitment to support the healthcare sector in Kosovo.

“Raiffeisen Bank has continuously paid special attention to supporting the health sector. Since healthcare is a more specific field, the cooperation that we have with the organization Action for Mother and Children was very helpful, through which corporation we have been able to make this donation. We are very happy that this equipment will enable the Neonatological Clinic to provide new services that have not been offered so far and Raiffeisen Bank will continue to look for other opportunities to help the healthcare in Kosovo, “said Robert Wright, director of Raiffeisen Bank.

“The donation of the echosonogram device will enable the first diagnostic service for many diseases and abnormalities at the Neonatology Clinic at UCCK, and as a result this will help save the lives of children in the country. We are proud to stay close to our partners and continue the battle to lower the infant mortality rate in the country, ” said Janine Mehmeti, Fundraising Coordinator at Action for Mothers and Children.
