23,730 francs were donated at the fundraising event ‘Save a Life’ in Zurich for mothers and children in Kosovo

The fundraising event ‘Save a Life’ held on the 10th of May 2019 at Marriott Hotel in Zurich, Switzerland, was quite a success. The ones that made the evening even more wonderful was the performance of the soprano Learta Jakupi and the band from Prishtina ‘String String’.

This charity event organized by Action for Mothers and Children and the co-organizers Dr.med. Agron Abrashi, Prof. Dr. med. Dr. h. c. Omer Dzemali,and Sevdail Tahiri was held to raise funds with the help of diaspora in order to lower the infant mortality rate in Kosovo.

The representative of Solidar Suisse, Ms. Syzane Baja, during her speech, showed the good cooperation between the organizations and praised AMC’s work, by encouraging the guest to support the mission of the humanitarian foundation.

During the evening many well-known personalities gave their contribution and donated funds to the three-hour cocktail. During the event was also a silent auction, where an English company of wooden glasses- Campbell Marson,  granite plates made by “Dhe by Granita“, a photographic session by Rromir Imami, photographs by Barbara Burri, and wine products by Kosovo Wine where part of it. 

“It was a privilege that we were among so many philanthropists of our Diaspora in Zurich. We celebrated together the successes and achievements of the past years as we raised funds that will enable the supply of medical equipment and medications, expand the program of Cervical Cancer Screening and the expansion of Women Health Resource Centers, ‘Mothers’ Classes’ in Kosovo, “said Janine Mehmeti, Manager at AMC.
