New Resource Center “Mother’s Classes” opens up in Peja

Today, at an official ceremony, the doors of the Women’s Health Resource Center “Mother’s Classes” were opened in Peja, at the Main Family Medicine Center ,the Emergency Facility – the Vaccination Center. This initiative has been made possible thanks to the cooperation of the Department of Health and Social Welfare of Peja, Main Family Medicine Center  and Action for Mothers and Children.

Dr. Petrit Loci, director of the health department in Peja , said that “we are very happy that our community is adding this service to mothers and children.” Thanking donors and organizers, Dr. Dukagjin Sahatciu pledged that this center will be used for the education of mothers and their partners for
the premature birth, pregnancy, and child care.

The presence of Mr. Gazmend Muhaxheri, Mayor of the Peja, honored the ceremony and made the official ribbon cut.

Meanwhile, the representative of Action for Mothers and Children, Albiona Beha, stated that the establishment of the Center in Peja marks the 8th point or the 7th municipality that incorporates the educational program of centers as part of the day care service for mothers and children health at the primary level. The “Mother’s Classes” Center in Peja will provide educational services, physical and psychological wellbeing activities for women as well as their partners, counseling about raising the child through positive disciplines. these activities are developed in a modern, multi-color interactive environment.

The Information Center in Peja is open every day for all women and girls of Peja Municipality, as well as their partners. The schedule of the sessions will be published in QKMF in Peja, on the website of Action for Mothers and Children and on the group of the Center on the Social Media.

This year the Women’s Health Resource Center “Mother’s Classes” were opened also in Kaçanik and Prizren, and years ago in Prishtina, Ferizaj, Shtërpcë and Mitrovica.

The opening of the center today was made possible by Raiffeisen Bank in Kosovo, also a partner of our foundation.

This program. is also supported by Solidar Suisse, in the framework of Kosana project in Kosovo.
