Cycle Kosovo for Children 2023
The Cycle Kosovo for Children (CKC) is an annual fundraising event that was initiated in 2014 by Mark Dixon and Thomas Flanagan in partnership with AMC. The event involves a group of cycling enthusiasts embarking on a journey around Kosovo, covering approximately 500 kilometers and climbing over 6000 meters while passing through major cities.
Over the years, CKC has evolved into an eagerly anticipated annual tradition, attracting local and foreign cycling enthusiasts. The event was founded with a strong desire to advocate for green policies and fundraise for a worthy cause. The main goal of CKC is to raise funds to support Action for Mothers and Children, a non-profit organization that aims to improve the health of mothers and children in Kosovo. Since its inception, CKC has been successful in raising funds through various means, including corporate sponsorship, individual donations and an end-of-tour event organized in Prishtina.
The funds raised by CKC are mainly used to purchase necessary medical equipment for hospitals around Kosovo. With each passing year, the event has continued to gather momentum, raising funds and awareness for children’s healthcare in Kosovo. CKC had an incredibly successful first event in 2014, and since then, the tour has been continued each year with the same goal of raising funds for this important cause. This year Cycle Kosovo for Children will be held on 15-18 June 2023 with a closing event on June 18th, at Miqt Pub in Prishtina for drinks and socializing.
Through continuous communication with the Ferizaj Hospital management, we have identified the equipment necessary for improving the healthcare service in the region, with the aim of saving babies’ lives. The equipment includes an echo machine, inhalators, a neopuff resuscitator, and pulsoxiometers. Providing these medical equipment’s would have a long-term impact regarding the health of infants and toddlers. This way, your contribution will have a significant impact on saving the lives of hundreds of babies and preserving the wellbeing of young mothers in the years to come.
