Cervical Cancer Screening Program

The Cervical Cancer Screening Program is led by the Ministry of Health and implemented by primary healthcare staff, with support from AMC and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). The program aims to prevent cervical cancer and significantly improve survival rates through early detection.

The program provides free Pap tests for women aged 21–65 at Family Medicine Centers in the municipalities of Pristina, Prizren, Mitrovica, Peja, Obiliq, and Gjilan. More than 20,000 women have benefitted so far. The program also includes training for healthcare professionals on how to perform the tests and raises public awareness about cervical cancer through educational lectures. The goal is to expand the program to all municipalities in Kosovo.
