Dr. Mentor Ahmeti brings valuable insights to AMC’s health initiatives
Action for Mothers and Children (AMC) is enhancing the medical expertise of its board of directors with the appointment of Dr. Mentor Ahmeti, vice chair of education and research at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine & Health Sciences.
A native of Kosovo now residing in the U.S., Dr. Ahmeti brings a deep passion for saving lives, mentoring future doctors and improving patient care.
“Dr. Ahmeti has been a dedicated supporter of AMC and our mission to expand access to quality healthcare for women and children across Kosovo,” said AMC Executive Director Rina Demiri Spahija. “As a board member, he will serve as a vital advisor as AMC continues its efforts to give every child in Kosovo the opportunity for a healthy start in life.”
Dr. Ahmeti is a trauma critical care and general surgeon and serves as the chief of trauma at Sanford Medical Center Fargo. He is the president of the North Dakota Chapter of the American College of Surgeons. His teaching and research have been shared in respected journals and he has led studies that advance patient care.
Beyond his clinical work, Dr. Ahmeti is committed to training the next generation of surgeons both in the U.S. and in Kosovo. As vice president for the U.S. at the Kosova College of Surgeons, he has worked with colleagues to launch the Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS®) program and enhance trauma care across Kosovo.
