Be part of “Cycle Kosovo for Children 2017” campaign

Prishtina, 24 May 2017-

Local cyclists are organizing the “Cycle Kosovo for Children” event for the fourth consecutive year in support of “Action for Mothers and Children.” The challenge for this year will be cycling around Kosovo for three days starting from Prishtina to Gjilan, Ferizaj, Prevalla, Prizren, Gjakova, Valbona, Junik, Peja, and returning to Pristina on a journey of over 300 miles (500km) and with over 5000 meters of climbing.

“We are doing this challenge to raise funds for Action for Mothers and Children with the purpose of buying a blood test analyzer for babies at the neonatology clinic in Peja,” said Albion Hadri, one of the organizers. “This equipment is indispensable for taking blood samples in babies right at the incubator and not outside the clinic, which consequently saves the lives of babies,” Hadri continued.

“This year we invite all citizens to become part of the campaign by helping us in one of the ways: by distributing the online campaign with your friends in social networks, give your financial support to help babies, invite your friends to donate financial support and to join us in the end-of-the tour event. The online crowdfuning campaign is active on the latest platform in Kosovo called KosovaIdeas, via http://kosovaideas.net/campaign/detail/305 “, said Agim Bilalli, organizer and a cyclist.

Cyclists will start their journey on Friday, June 2 from Lulu’s Coffee and Wine and return on Sunday, June 4th. A closing event will be held at De Rada starting at 19:00 on Sunday evening, June 4th, involving raffle prizes, fun, music, finger food and fundraising activities.
