
Ministry of Health in Kosovo

Ministry of Health in Kosovo – at the request of the officials at the Ministry of Health, an advisory group was established to offer an outside view on issues of priority identified by them. The group assisted in narrowing down these priorities and making them more focused in their scope, not only for the Ministry but also for the donor community. The group and Ministry officials participated in several conferences and developed strategies regarding the health sector in Kosovo. AMC has recently been working with MoH in establishing the Line Services for Gynaecology/Obstetrics and Neonatology as well as in strengthening relationships between Dartmouth and Kosovo.

UNICEF

UNICEF is mandated by the United Nations General Assembly to advocate for the protection of children's rights, to help meet their basic needs, and to expand their opportunities to reach their full potential. UNICEF in Kosovo aims to ensure that all children, irrespective of their socio-economic or ethnic background, have access to quality and friendly services and opportunities to help them survive, develop, enrich their potential and become active and responsible citizens of their communities.

Save the Children

Save the Children program approach is based on direct interventions and the establishment of good practices, capacity building of civil society and local duty bearers to respond to the needs of children. Save the Children also advocates for legislation and policies that will incorporate inclusive practices and have appropriate financial mechanisms to support systemic responses and therefore achieve long lasting positive changes for all children.

United Nations Fund for Population Activities

UNFPA – is the lead UN agency for delivering a world where every pregnancy is wanted, every birth is safe, and every young person's potential is fulfilled. UNFPA supports AMCs program of the Coalition of CSOs on reproductive health and its pilot project on cervical cancer screening in the municipality of Prishtina. Prior to this AMC, in partnership with UNFPA, has advised the Ministry of Health in establishing the Line Services for Gynecology/Obstetrics and Neonatology, ultimately leading towards a better health care delivery management system for mothers and children.

World Health Organisation

WHO’s priority in the area of health systems is moving towards universal health coverage. WHO works together with policy-makers, global health partners, civil society, academia and the private sector to support countries to develop, implement and monitor solid national health plans.

Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center

Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center is a 396-bed academic medical center that includes Norris Cotton Cancer Center, a National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center; the Children's Hospital at Dartmouth; and both adult and pediatric Level 1 trauma centers. AMC has been working with Dartmouth for 5 years, including in research projects that have informed the strategy of the Ministry of Health. These include Studies on Hospital Performance and Assessment of Healthcare needs for southeastern Municipalities of Kosovo.

University Clinical Center of Kosovo


AmeriCares

AmeriCares is a nonprofit disaster relief and humanitarian aid organization that provides immediate response to emergency medical needs and supports long-term humanitarian assistance programs. Since its inception in 1999, AmeriCares delivery of aid to Kosovo has focused on three target areas: emergency response, orthopedics, and neonatal survival. The partnership between AMC and AmeriCares has resulted in over $1,000,000 donation of Survanta medication, without which there is a 80% risk of death for premature babies. AmeriCares has also supported AMC in securing pessaries for the Gynecology department in UCCK, which enables much safer delivery for both the mother and the child, breathing tubes and CRP blood analyzer machine

Solidar Suisse Kosova

Solidar Suisse Kosovo - committed to build a fair society - social, political and economic. Kosovo Solidar Suisse support is enabling AMC to conduct a needs assessment for pregnant women and newborns, whose findings will be used to advocate for the maternal health insurance scheme at the Ministry of Health.

Abbott Pharmaceuticals

Abbot Pharmaceuticals – is a worldwide health care company producing medical devises and pharmaceuticals. AMC was able to secure a SiPAP for UCCK, which is a medical equipment device that regulates breathing for infants. Such achievement has been made possible through the donation of Abbot Pharmaceuticals.

March of Dimes

March of Dimes is a very distinguished American foundation that has been successfully helping women and children in the USA for years. AMC was especially inspired by the mission of this organisation. AMC has collaborated with March of Dimes on translating all educational materials into Albanian, Serbian, and Turkish language for women’s use.

Direct Relief International

Direct Relief is a nonprofit public benefit corporation, based in the State of California – USA, with a mission to improve the health and lives of people. Direct Relief works to strengthen the efforts of its partners through the provision of resources, including financial, technical, and essential medical materials.

UNMIK

The Mission is mandated to help ensure conditions for a peaceful and normal life for all inhabitants of Kosovo and advance regional stability in the Western Balkans. UNMIK supports AMC’s efforts to expand the services of Women’s Health Resource Center in the municipality of Sterpce.

Main Family Medicine Center in Mitrovica

The MFMC in Mitrovica offers primary care services to all the inhabitants of Mitrovica. This medical center has integrated WHRC into its day-to-day services.

Swiss Embassy

The Swiss embassy represents Switzerlands interests in the country and also implements Switzerland’s development cooperation and humanitarian aid on the ground.

700 for Science

Our main partner in our Cervical Cancer Screening Program. 700 for Science is a global nonprofit comprised of researchers, industry leaders, entrepreneurs and investors. This foundation looks for promising technology and then team up with in-country health experts to introduce healthcare innovations to medically under-served areas.

Australian Embassy and Permanent Mission in Vienna

Through their direct aid program, the Australian Embassy supports strengthening and expanding the services of the Women’s Health Resource Centers in a municipality outside Prishtina.

The Embassy of the Czech Republic supports the Women’s Health Resource Center curriculum development, staff training, and program strengthening.
