The Foundation Action for Mothers and Children (AMC), held its second charity evening in United States at Yale Club in New York City where $ 41,395.00 were raised. With over 70 guests from business, culture, politics and arts, the highlight of the evening were the speeches given by the Virginia Apgar Award Winner, George A. Little, and other influential people such as the businessman’s Richard Lukaj, Bekim Ahmetaj and Valon Xharra.
For the first time, Action for Mother and Child (AMC) and the organization Solidar Suisse organized ‘Diaspora Dinner ‘ at the Restaurant Eni’t in Zurich, Switzerland, on September 29, 2017. This evening was organized for the purpose of raising funds from our Diaspora for the support of mothers and children in Kosovo. At this dinner, around 9,755.23 Swiss francs were collected through ticket sales and through the donations from different businesses and individuals.
For the third time, Action for Mothers and Children brought together more than 400 people in the fundraising event, “Let’s Dance” which was held at Duplex Premium.Action for Mother and Children together with sponsors and by selling the tickets raised around € 23,486.5, excluding food, drinks, decoration, music that were offered free of charge. All of these funds will go to save the lives of mothers and children in Kosovo. We are deeply grateful!
For the first time in New York, AMC hosted its Benefit at the Russian Tea Room where more than 100 people gathered to raise $44,630.00 through ticket sales and corporate sponsorship. This event brought together people from business, politics, entertainment superstars such as: Valerie Rockefeller, Dua Lipa, Richard Lukaj, Fadil Berisha, Albert Stanaj, and many renown figures.
For the second year, the Let’s Dance 2 event gathered more than 400 people in our annual fundraising event raising Eur 32,175.00 through corporate sponsorship and ticket sales. A fabulous event turns out to be a bigger success than last year.
Bank Street Charity Invitational 2 was hosted on June 2016 by the Bank Street Group in USA where Action for Mothers and Children is one of the beneficiaries. The event gathered golf players in the Burning Tree Country Club in the USA for a golf tournament to raise funds for humanitarian causes, including the one of maternal and child health in Kosovo. In 2016 the event raised approximately $10,000 for mothers and children in Kosovo.
In the morning of June 3rd, a group of around 30 cyclists started their 3-day cycling tour around Kosovo for a total distance of 500km for the third year now. This cycling event is a charity event to raise funds for mothers and children in Kosovo.
This year’s event managed to raise Eur 13,179.80 through corporate sponsorships, individual online contributions and the raffle prizes during the end of event fundraiser. This annual event is an initiative of two international cyclists living in Kosovo and was supported by Eulex, Kosovo Police and sponsored by Devolli Corporation, Astes Turkey, Rugove, BpB, Shtepiaku, On Line Studio, MoneyGram, UniProject, European Auto Care, Entermedia, VM3, and Beer Garden.
This event was co-organized by Crimson Capital and Radio Dukagjini, as a dance event, to raise money in support of “Action for Mothers and Children.” The first event was held on December 3, 2015 at Sheshi 21 and raised Eur 23,890.00 from company sponsorships and tickets sold to participate in this dance event with music, finger food, drinks and a lot of fun!

In 2015 the event raised more that $100,000 for the 12 beneficiary charities, including AMC.
In the morning of June 5th, 2015 a group of around 20 cyclists started their cycling tour around Kosovo for a total distance of 500km of cycling and 8000m of climbing. The cyclists, wearing yellow T-shirts, set off from Prishtina to Mitrovica, Peja, Gjakova, Prizren, Ferizaj, Gjilan, Kamenica and back in Prishtina at the end of event fundraising party on June 7th, 2015. The event was held for the second time.
The Cycle Kosovo for Children 2015 managed to raise approximately Eur 15,000 through corporate donations, indivudal online contributions and the auction and ruffle activities held during the end of event fundraising party at Sabaja Bar in Prishtina. This event is an intiative of dy international cyclists living in Kosovo (Mark Dixon and Thomas Flanagan) and is supported strongly by Eulex, Devolli Corporation, Uni Project, Sabaja, studio Drop, Pilot Bike, international workers living in Kosovo and a lot of friends.
In May 2015, under the initiative of Bllok.org, Trembelat and the support of Intersport Kosova a fundraising campaign named “Runner for Hearts” was organized as part of Prishtina Half-Marathon. The campaign aimed at raising funds to support Action for Mothers and Children mission by having participants of Prishtina Half-Marathon join AMC team and run for hearts/charity during 5km or 21km events. An amount of Euro 1561.88 was raised as a result of one-week campaign from the sale of T-shirts labeled “Runner for Hearts” purchased from citizens, runners and other institutions who supported the campaign. During the 2015 Prishtina Half-Marathon contributors run with blue T-shirts. This is an annual event of AMC.
On December 9, 2014 the Consul General of the Republic of Kosovo, Mrs. Vlora Citaku hosted an informal benefit at her home supporting Action for Mothers and Children, jointly with Viosa and Richard Lukaj in New York. This event managed to raised approximately $22,000 to support the forces of Action for Mothers and Children towards saving the lives of mothers and children in the Republic of Kosovo by sustainable programs that reduce infant mortality rate and improve healthcare for mothers.
In the fundraising gala dinner hosted in November 2014, we managed to raise Eur 16,650 to support the mission of AMC to continue developing programs that save the lives of children and mothers in the Republic of Kosovo.
In its humanitarian concert in Ferizaj at the end of 2014, our foundation gathered bands and singers such as Jericho, Andos, Dren Abazi and many others. Around Euro 700 were raised to support our foundation’s efforts to help maternal and child health in Kosovo.
In May 2014, a group of international cyclists organized Cycle Kosovo for Children event to raise funds for Action for Mothers and Children in support of Neonatology Unit located in Prishtina. Their challenge was to cycle around Kosovo in three days passing many of major cities in a total distance of 500 kilometers with 5000 meters of climbing. Approximately Eur 10,230 were raised and we then delivered the CRP/CBC equipment at Neonatology.
On May 5th 2014, Wellness Center staff marked the World Midwife Day with an activity in Mother Teresa Boulevard – distributing flyers on the role and importance of midwifes, use of WHRC resources, and performed some basic checks to passing pregnant women together with Medical Students of UP and UCCK staff. The event was covered by local TVs stations.
The brochures explained the important role of a midwife when a woman undergoes a normal pregnancy. Women were advised on the importance of having good relationships with their midwives and using the Women ‘s Health Resource Center for counseling. Childbirth may be the most powerful life experience a woman undergoes and midwives can play an important role in this an experience.
On March 8th 2014, Women Health Resource Centre staff distributed flowers to participating women of the center’s activities and its donors/partners. Mothers at our Women Health Resource Center have become friends with one another and they share experiences to ease each-other’s pregnancy concerns. Women experiencing their first births are also provided education and exercises to prepare for birth delivery room.
In May 2012 we organized a charity event in London, UK, in order to raise awareness within the Albanian Diaspora on the difficult conditions prevalent at Neonatology Clinic at UCCK in Prishtina. An amount of £6,000 was donated from the Albanian Diaspora for purchase of medicaments at NICU.
